Hypnosis is a natural state. Everyone drifts into a hypnotic state regularly although they may not be aware of this. One example of this is daydreaming. In Theraputic hypnosis the therapist uses this hypnotic state to bypass the conscious mind to access the subconscious mind enabling the client to make changes to thought and behaviour pattens that are unhelpful or damaging to the client.


Counselling is a talking therapy which allows people  to discuss their problems and explore their feelings. This takes place in a safe  and confidential space. In general people tend to use this space when they are seeking change in their lives or want to explore their feelings and thoughts in a deeper way.

Your counsellor will help you to talk about what’s on your mind, what’s troubling you to get to the root problem and to help identify how you think.

Stress is becoming more common. It can be home, school, relationship or work based or a combination of these. It arises from being under sustained pressure and produces a feeling of not being in control. Apart from the mental anxiety it can produce physical effects such as sleep problems or digestion issues. It is one of the major causes of work time loss. Ideas and techniques acquired through hypnotherapy can help sufferers to alleviate these problems.

Anxiety Disorder

Everyone suffers from anxiety occasionally. This is perfectly normal. However, it can become an issue if it develops into a long-term problem. Anxiety can be related to something specific e.g. exam anxiety in children or it can be related to no specific trigger e.g. generalised anxiety disorder. Counselling can be useful and relaxation and coping procedures learnt under hypnosis can be very helpful.

Smoking Cessation

If you are a smoker the biggest single contribution you can make to your health is to stop smoking. The dangers of smoking are well known but often the monetary and social costs areunderestimated. Please note – we cannot MAKE you stop smoking. The only thing that can do that is you yourself. We can, however, help you by strengthening your will power, using aversion techniques and goal setting.

Weight Loss

These days there is enormous and unnecessary pressure to fit an idealised and often unnaturalsize and shape. However, it is true that being overweight can be harmful to both health and confidence. Crash or fad diets may work in the short term but do not provide a long-term solution. Using hypnotherapy and/or counselling, we aim to produce a longer-term result by helping people to alter their lifestyle and their food relationship,


Everyone gets depressed sometimes but on occasions it can become long=term and debilitating. It can be difficult to get out of this state without help. Both counselling and hypnotherapy can be helpful in dealing with this and developing coping strategies.


A phobia is an extreme and irrational fear of something. People can often be derided for having a phobia – this is unfair, although the fear is irrational it is no less real for the sufferer. Phobias are incredibly common – in fact, if you don’t have a phobia yourself you almost certainly know someone who has one. Hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment for phobias.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse can arise from either a chemical or psychological dependence on something (e.g. recreational drugs, alcohol, painkillers. etc.), We are non-judgemental and can help you deal with these issues, although medical support may also be needed.


All relationships have occasional problems but when they become severe enough to threaten the relationship it is necessary to take action. We can work with individuals or couples and can offer a full hypnotherapy and counselling service.

Grief & Loss

The feelings of grief and loss which can follow a bereavement can be overwhelming. Both hypnotherapy and counselling can be helpful in coming to terms with this. However, it should be remembered that feelings of loss need not be only associated with a bereavement but can arise from the loss of a pet, job, relationship or anything important.

We don’t take insurance but if it’s a case of your work place wanting to pay for you therapy we can accommodate that. Just contact us to take care of this for you.

Attendance at therapy sessions are usually carried out on a regular basis for an agreed duration. This is dependant on the type of therapy and the individuals needs.

Yes, with the exceptions of confidentiality limitations which are discussed with you.

The cost of therapy is dependant on the type of therapy you book, duration and if you are paying as you go or paying a block at time.

it is important that you feel comfortable that your therapist has your best interests at heart. We are not a one size fits all therapy agency and we fully appreciate that not all therapies are a good fit for some. We are happy to discuss your needs and find the best solution for you.
